  1. WE ARE ALL LEGENDS: Back Cover - An acrylic painting on a 9 x 12 size poster board. It appears on the back cover of the softcover book, "We are All Legends," by Darrell Schweitzer, published by Donning in 1981. Note: The painting is actually a wraparound composition, the right half of the painting (the front cover side) can be seen in picture 233.

    Speaking of "Legends," I remember the one about William Tell, who was forced by the King to prove his marksmanship with a bow and arrow, by shooting an apple off his son's head from a fairly long distance . . .

    When he did, he turned to face the King, who noticed that Tell had another arrow attached to his belt. The King asked, "why did you have another arrow, you had only one shot? . . .

    William Tell answered, "If I had killed my son or injured him in any way, this second arrow would have gone into your heart.
